Idaho

8:30pm. This is a time where most are getting ready for bed, watching some TV, eating a late-night snack. But for my group of friends this is the earliest we leave for adventures, and on Friday night this is when we departed for a journey North, our goal being Idaho.

You might ask, “Why Idaho?” My reply to you, dear reader, is irrelevant as there are simultaneously an infinite amount of answers and no answers at all. Ant’s car was going there, therefore I was too.

Our first stop was Mantua. It is a tiny town somewhere between Brigham City and Logan, tucked away in the mountains, known to very few. With a population of 822, you might imagine that there is nothing to do, but that is where you are dead wrong. When you pull into the town, you will soon find a convenience store with an old gas pump and a wooden bear statue. I made everyone step out of the car and pose with the gas pump and the bear. We spent a solid 10 minutes in this town, but Hope loved it just the same. (She bought a cactus the following day and named it Mantua)

The next destination of ours was Logan, proud college town with virtually nothing to do except to eat pizza, and pizza eating is what we did. The restaurant goes by the name of Lucky Slice, and if you live in Utah you NEED to try it. It is quite possibly the best pizza known to man, and you can buy the pizza by the slice or a whole ass pizza. While we waited for our slices to come out we played a round of some old X-men arcade game. We filled our stomachs and then went on our way.

By this point, it was about 10pm. The border was close, so we kept heading North. 30 minutes of singing along to shitty rap music and then we were there. We were so hyped to go to Idaho, and when we finally arrived we all took photos with the welcome sign. What did we do then? Nothing. We just continued to head North until we could connect to a road that would take us home.

We stayed in Idaho for about two hours, and in that time I learned one thing, and one thing only: Idaho has nothing. From my experience, all Idaho has to offer is dirt and then more dirt. But I think this story says a lot about life. We all have a destination to reach at some point or another. We may stop along the way to take pretty pictures, to eat, and to play around a bit, but we still hop back in the car and keep going. And once we get there, we are SO excited to be there, but then a whole lot of nothing comes after. But eventually, we all go back home. (I attempted to be poetic, but bear with me, there is some meaning to this)

Welcome

Hello World!

Nice to meet you! My name is Anonymous, and so are all the other names of people on here. I am a Freshman in college, living in my school’s affiliated apartments. I live in Utah and have been a resident for quite some time now. I have a great group of friends, a great family, and a great boyfriend. My friends and I go on adventures frequently, which I’ll most likely talk about. I am an aspiring Nursing major, spending all of my time studying and eating.

I hope you enjoy this blog!
